Gena wasn't even our realtor, but when she showed us a different house and we mentioned the dream house to her, she took the initiative to look into it without us even asking her to do so. She discovered the previous deal had fallen through, and though she encouraged us to use our previous agent, we absolutely wanted her to represent us since she had already shown she was diligent and thorough. She steered us professionally through the purchase of that home and the sale of our previous house. Through the process we definitely came to see her more as a friend we could trust than just an agent. When we had ideas that she thought weren't that great (like regarding our desire to overprice our previous home), she'd always tell us she'd go with that if we wanted, but took the time to explain why she thought another choice might be better for us. We were looking to purchase a second property and a friend referred us to team Gilleland. We are from out of town and I came down for a couple of days to see some properties in the Orlando area. They dedicated their entire time over multiple days to see all the properties I was interested in and were very knowledgable in all the areas we drove through. They are very easy going with a great sense of humour, as well as very responsive and eager to help out with anything we needed. When I flew back home they went to see properties for me and sent me detailed videos and photos of everything. When it came time to make an offer, Gena had a lot of knowledge on the comparables and did a fantastic job on the negotiations. They continue to help us even after we purchased our home. I had a list of "pre-requisites that were must haves for my new property and Gena nailed it with all of the listings she filtered for me in my daily updates. From here, Gena and Skip became absolutely amazing. I had a few properties that required on-site video as I was in another country and was unable to view them in person and Skip/Gena scheduled appointments the same day and did in-depth video walk throughs for me on all the properties I was interested in with no questions asked. I was amazed that they were so willing to go out and do a bunch of work for someone in another country with no commitment, but I was appreciative to say the least. After a few video walk throughs and chatting with them, we had found our new home. They were amazing throughout the negotiations and establishing a suitable offer based on the comparable properties and current market value and we were able to close on the property for less money than I was willing to spend based on their suggestions. It's easy to get caught up in really wanting a place and it's important to take a step back and take the advice of someone who knows the area and the true value of the property. Now this is where ALL OTHER realtors have finished, and honestly I would have had a great experience up to this point, but this isn't where Gena/Skip stopped. They helped put me in touch with the community association, sent me a complete list of local contractors for several changes I wanted to make to the property before my move in date, and even went to my house nearly daily to meet contractors to make all my updates happen. I have never experienced this level of service from any realtor before in my life, and I cannot say enough how amazing this team is. In September of 2020 my wife and I found a home that we wanted to see. We immediately got in... read moreIn September of 2020 my wife and I found a home that we wanted to see. We immediately got in touch with Gena and Skip to view the house because we knew it was going to sell quickly. Skip dropped what he was doing and met us at the house within 45 minutes. There were several people already there viewing the house. It wasn’t an open house, it just happened to turn into one. We immediately fell in love with the house and were disappointed when we heard there were already two offers for it. Skip submitted our offer anyway and we hoped for the best. That night, Skip called us to tell break the bad news... The seller rejected the other offers and accepted ours! Two days later, in the pouring rain, Skip and Gena came to our current home to list it. Gena did such a great job with our listing that it sold in only eleven hours of listing it! We couldn’t believe it. We seamlessly closed on both homes and were moved in our new house in six weeks. Everything happened so quick and easy that it was almost unbelievable. Our new house also appraised for $10,000 above what we paid for it. Skip and Gena (this will sound cliché) literally, made us feel like family. The two of them are the most down to earth, no pressure, no games, perfect team, to buy or sell (or both, in our case) your home. I HIGHLY recommend them. They go above and beyond and even helped us with getting us things we didn’t realize we left behind after we moved. Skip brought the items to us late at night about a week after we were in the new house. I promise, you won’t be disappointed with them. read less
